- Do not pay the sticker until you test. Under a 35% water share the name flips to Unknown Water and the till uses the Gutterflow rate.
- Six grades sit on a 40 cr per liter base. Raw liter prices in the notes: 80, 60, 40, 26.8, 10, and 4 cr.
- Steam's 1.0.0.5 post moves the Water Purifier from 300 cr to 250 cr. The 1.0.0.2 post moves the Water Filter from 50 cr to 25 cr and the Moisture Farm from 650 cr to 350 cr.
- One worked sale: 750 mL of Basewater in a standard bottle is 35 cr before markups, split 30 cr liquid and 5 cr glass.
Read a test before you trust the sticker
| Grade | Water share | Price effect | Raw cr / L |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pure Water | 99.9% and up | +100% | 80 |
| High-Quality | 99% up to 99.9% | +50% | 60 |
| Basewater | 98% up to 99% | 0 | 40 |
| Ghostwater | 96% up to 98% | −33% | 26.8 |
| Rustwater | 90% up to 96% | −75% | 10 |
| Gutterflow | under 90% | −90% | 4 |
Buyers pay whatever grade is printed until somebody challenges the jug. Drop the true water share under 35% and the name becomes Unknown Water, priced on the Gutterflow row, until that challenge lands. A Water Testing Strip is single-use, also works on a buyer's container, and reports the grade plus purity out to two decimals. AquaScan can be used again and lists each liquid with milliliters and share. The Labeler can stamp any water grade onto your own stock. Both readers can surface the current sticker: Confront when a buyer overstated the jug, Match label when the stock is yours.
Anything that is not water pulls the share down. That includes other contaminants, mineral left behind by nutrient tablets, chlorine from a purification tablet, and alcohol. Our container calculator still rounds the sale to the nearest even credit. The 26.8 cr figure in the table is the raw liter price for Ghostwater, not that rounded receipt.
Match the dirt to a tool
| Problem | Noted fix |
|---|---|
| Heavy metal | HydraTech Micro Water Purifier or Water Purifier |
| Organic waste | A filter, acid or base, a purifier, or heat once it reaches 80°C |
| Microplastic or mineral | A filter, or else a purifier |
| Physical contaminant | A filter, or else a purifier |
| Microbes | UV Lamp, a tablet, alcohol once it hits 40%, heat once it hits 70°C, or a purifier |
| Chemical contaminant | Tablet down to 0.7%, or a purifier |
Overnight, a Water Purifier is described as stopping at High-Quality, and as reaching Pure Water only when Quality modules are fitted. A module-by-module chart for that machine was not in the fetch, so those steps stay Not verified yet. HydraTech Micro Water Purifier jumps the liquid to Basewater immediately, durability 300, at the rate given in the note: 1 per 100 mL. A purification tablet is 15 mL of chlorine. It cuts chemical contaminant to 0.7%, then clears microbes. A UV Lamp turns every microbe into water in one action and is not consumed.
A Water Filter lives in a Water Pitcher with 400 durability. It handles the four non-microbe rows already in the table: organic waste, the plastic bits, loose grit, and mineral. The advanced model restores 50 durability overnight. Hydroreed is the short-lived version, durability 250. Pulling dirt out also shrinks the volume, and the sticker can still show a worse grade than the liquid you just cleaned.
Fill, expand, and use the patched prices
After a tap upgrade, the faucet fills a container. Gutterflow On Tap costs 250 cr on Cozy and Normal and rerolls each day between 80.00% and 89.99%. Rustwater On Tap costs 350 cr on those two difficulties and lands between 90.00% and 91.50%. A sealed standard ration pours 750 mL of Basewater. The small ration pours 375 mL of Basewater. A Moisture Farm makes 850 mL a night, less per farm when several run together, and the output is Ghostwater if Quality modules are missing. A drain empties the container.
Steam's 1.0.0.2 post cuts the Moisture Farm from 650 cr to 350 cr, the Water Filter from 50 cr to 25 cr, and Dr. Jackson's markup on Normal from 25% to 15%. That same post says the purifier's behavior was rewritten. The 250 cr sticker is not in 1.0.0.2. It arrives in 1.0.0.5, which moves the Water Purifier from 300 cr to 250 cr and calls the earlier miss out by name. Trust the patch if an older note still prints 300 cr. The 1.0.0.5 post also says a pitcher offered with its filter still inside now gets a spoken prompt to remove the filter, rather than a silent refusal.
Sizes line up with the calculator: 250, 450, 750, 2,000, 3,000, 6,000, and 20,000 mL. The tank can be built out to 50,000 mL. Scrap metal adds 2,000 mL. A metal ingot adds somewhere from 4,000 to 14,000 mL, scaling with that ingot's purity. For the receipt, open the water calculator. This page is only the reason the grade moved.
